Job Title: General Retail Assistant

Location: Naas General Hospital
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday (typically 7:00-15:30 or 12:00-20:30)
Salary: Up to €14.50 per hour for the right candidate

About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused General Retail Assistant to join a busy retail and food service operation within Naas General Hospital. This unit provides a mix of retail, café, barista and light kitchen services to staff, patients, and visitors. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Serving customers in a friendly, professional manner
Operating tills and handling cash/card transactions
Processing Lotto sales
Preparing and serving hot and cold beverages (barista training provided)
Assisting at the deli counter, including food prep and presentation
Maintaining cleanliness across retail, café, and kitchen areas
Restocking shelves and ensuring displays are well presented
Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times
Providing helpful, patient support to customers and colleagues

Requirements:

Previous retail, café, barista, or kitchen experience is an advantage but not essential
Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
