Senior Bar Duty Manager

Location: Leixlip, Co. Kildare
Hours: Full-time, 5 days over 7 (including weekends and public holidays)
Salary: €40,000 – €42,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a busy 4-star hotel in Leixlip, for an experienced and dynamic Senior Bar Duty Manager to join their management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional looking to take the next step in their career within a vibrant and well-established property.

The Role:

This is a full-time position, working an average of 45 hours per week across 5 days, including weekends and public holidays. The Senior Bar Duty Manager will play a key role in overseeing the hotel’s busy bar and beverage operations, ensuring the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel’s bar and beverage department (6 bars in total).

  • Manage and support a team of 30-40 staff, ensuring smooth service across all areas.

  • Take a hands-on approach, assisting in operations as required.

  • Work closely with the management team on all aspects of hotel operations.

  • Carry out Duty Management shifts, taking full responsibility for the property during these times.

  • Conduct weekly stocktakes and assist with inventory control.

  • Lead staff training, coaching, and performance development.

  • Drive sales initiatives in collaboration with the in-house sales team.

  • Maintain high standards of customer service and guest satisfaction.

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and HACCP regulations.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar management role within a busy 3* or 4* hotel.

  • Strong knowledge of the bar and beverage industry, including current trends and innovations.

  • HACCP training is essential.

  • Experience with hotel front office systems desirable.

  • Previous experience in food & beverage, banqueting, or events operations.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexible availability, including early and late shifts.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • A current First Aid Certificate is desirable but not essential.
