Hotel Duty Manager – 4-Star Hotel
Location: County Kildare
Type: Full-Time | 45 hours per week | 5 days over 7, including weekends and public holidays

About the Role
A busy and well-regarded 4-star hotel in County Kildare is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join their management team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key operational role within a thriving hospitality business that’s part of a larger Irish-owned group with a strong footprint in both the hotel and retail sectors.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading teams, and is passionate about delivering great guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel during duty shifts

  • Ensure smooth coordination across all departments, particularly food & beverage

  • Support a team of up to 40 staff during peak periods

  • Take a hands-on approach to service delivery and problem-solving

  • Assist in food & beverage service where needed to maintain high standards

  • Monitor service levels and guest satisfaction throughout the shift

  • Manage stock control and participate in regular stocktakes

  • Support staff training and team development

  • Contribute to the execution of internal sales initiatives in collaboration with the sales team

  • Handle guest queries or issues professionally and efficiently

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and HACCP requirements

  • Participate in regular duty management cover and ensure smooth handovers

What You’ll Need

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar hotel operations or duty management role (3* or 4* property)

  • Strong food & beverage background, ideally with banqueting or events experience

  • HACCP training is essential

  • Knowledge of hotel front office systems is an advantage

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and take initiative during busy periods

  • Flexibility to work early and late shifts as required

  • A valid First Aid Certificate is a plus but not required

  • Team-focused, guest-oriented, and solutions-driven

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
