Checkout Manager | Retail Grocery | North County Dublin

We are seeking an experienced Checkout Manager to join a busy supermarket in North County Dublin on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with retail supervisory experience who is committed to delivering exceptional customer service.

Salary: €25,000-€28,000 per annum

The Role:
This is a full-time position working an average of 42.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7, including weekends and public holidays. The role may evolve to 3 days Checkout Management and 2 days HR/Admin support.

Main Duties:

  • Overall management of a busy checkout department

  • Supervision of a team of 8-10 staff on duty

  • Rostering for a team of approximately 25, including supervisory staff

  • Queue management and ensuring excellent customer service

  • Ensuring all staff have the tools required for their role

  • Covering tills during peak periods and supporting the customer service desk

  • Overseeing the store end of home delivery operations

  • Departmental housekeeping and adherence to relevant legislation

  • Staff training, development, and mentoring

  • Assisting the store manager in other areas as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a busy checkout team in a retail grocery environment

  • Experience with till/cash register systems

  • Strong people management and leadership skills

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and multi-tasking skills

  • Experience in staff training and development

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deliver excellent customer service

  • Flexible to work early starts, late finishes, and weekends

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
